About

Just a series of loosely-related, wacky misadventures

About me

A Vancouverite since 2009, I’m currently a news writer who’s producing audiovisual stories, while aiding reporters nationwide with their coverage for Global News’ flagship newscast, Global National, airing across Canada.

But let’s start from the top (sort of), shall we?

I’m a film studies alumnus of The University of British Columbia (UBC), as well as a journalism graduate of the University of King’s College in Halifax.

I spent my undergrad years at the UBC student newspaper, The Ubyssey, both as a senior culture writer and as copy editor. There, I reported on anything from obscure stage performances across the city, to why Uber and taxis just can’t get along. Otherwise, I was also involved in other student-journo-sanctioned buffoonery (for example, narrating Halloween).

Later on, I also reported on the daily happenings in and around the city of Halifax for The Signal, the official outlet of the King’s journalism program. Shortly after, I interned at CBC Radio’s q with Tom Power in Toronto where I pitched and produced a few of the many hot stories in the mainstream arts and entertainment scene.

Apart from that, I’ve also written blog posts for a multicultural websites, briefly wrote and edited copy for international businesses, and even wrote up about my high school years for The Tyee.

But if you have a burning desire to know more about me apart from my résumé -in-a-nutshell:

You’ll be pleased to know that I’m a lover of great (and absolutely terrible) cinema, losing myself in non-fiction podcasts and reading long-form articles, tweeting vague pop-culture references, tormenting my hunger with cooking shows, and decompressing via video games.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy pineapple on my pizza. Please do not attempt to argue with me over this matter.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way — let’s go make things and stuff.
